Collision Repair Association of Nova Scotia (CRANS) has been working to bring together Environment Canada, Department of Labour and Workforce Development all working through the Nova Scotia Community College.


Though the assistance of the Automotive Trades Association we are forwarding the attached flyer. It is pertaining to upcoming important information sessions being held across the province. The sessions will inform industry on recent changes to federal regulations for automotive paints and coatings, provincial certification and apprenticeship training for the collision industry and how these will apply to the NS Occupational Health & Safety Act and regulations. If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you need to be aware of this:

 

In January and February 2010, Environment Canada and the Nova Scotia Department of Labour

and Workforce Development will be delivering joint information sessions on the latest federal

and provincial regulations and standards applicable to the collision repair industry. If you are a

manufacturer, jobber, shop owner, automotive painter, automotive body technician or industry

representative, you need to attend to ensure you have access to the best and most accurate

information about new regulations, industry certification requirements, and training opportunities

to ensure your business can best position itself to move into the future of this industry.

 

Topics to be discussed will include:

 

Recent federal regulations for automotive paints and coatings

Certification and apprenticeship training for the collision repair industry

Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations

 

Information sessions will be held at local campuses of the Nova Scotia Community College

(NSCC) on the following dates:
